BOTOX can Kill!!! Now What is Hollywood Going to Do?

I know someone who knows someone whose sister abuses botox.............she's not an actress; doesn't live in hollywood and is happily married with four beautiful kids to an abusive husband who constantly tells her how ugly she is.....hence, her use of the deadly toxins in her face.......... Note to her - one of these two evils will be the end of you. seriously. This post is my passive aggressive way of reaching out to help you!!! As for Hollywood, I'm sure all those fabulous entertainers are wondering what they're going to do.........the Grammy's, the Oscars....... how dare the FDA??? Does this mean they'll have to show up looking like themselves? Oh, the pure horror!!!! Imagine the nightmares we'll have if they show up with furrows in their brows...... or maybe laugh lines????? WoW!! Movement? This will be an award season to remember :-)

Click here and here here to learn more about the FDA's warning on Botox. BTW - I hope I haven't offended anyone. If you use botox, I'm sure you look absolutely youthful and ravishing........

Side Hustle - Substance Abuse Counselor

One of the most rewarding careers, full-time or part-time is being a substance abuse counselor. It's an awesome way to make an intangible contribution to our communities; in this day and age, when most of our youth treat drugs like tic tacs. Click here and here if you're interested. Below are pics of some celebrities who've been "getting" some form of substance abuse help (in Rehab), in one form or another. If only normal folks could afford Promises or Cirque ........................

For those of you into reality television there's also the celeb-wreck that is Celebrity rehab with Dr Drew. Substance abuse is a real serious problem, whether it involves abusing prescription medications or just smokinig crack. It affects and destroys families everyday. We applaud substance abuse couselors for making a difference in their communities, or at Promises...........

Amy Winehouse
Lindsay Lohan
Eva Mendes
Britney Spears

And is she? or Isn't she? People Magazine is reporting that Kristen Dunst entered rehab this week(the exclusive spa, ahem, Cirque Lodge Treatment Center). Her rep says not so...................hmmmm.... denial is a river in Egypt.

Kristen Dunst

And not to be outdone.......Pat O'Brien re-entered rehab today..... The insider issued a statement earlier today, saying "O’Brien and his doctors felt this is the best course for maintaining his sobriety.” Good Luck!!

Side Hustle - Wedding Photographer

Do you enjoy taking pictures? Do you go everywhere with your camera, just hoping to weave a beautiful story. These days, there's a huge market for photographers (all types). Wedding photographers are always in demand. Below are 12 tips from Oregon Wedding Photographer Juan Carlos Torres. Please click HERE for additional information if you are interested!!!

1. Learn photography before anything else. A wedding photographer is expected to be a master of the craft. You will be in charge of capturing people's most precious life moments. The wedding day is not the place to learn photography.

2. Just because you got a brand new camera it does not automatically make you an effective and reliable photographer. Photography goes beyond cool toys and gadgets. Learn composition and develop a unique artistic vision. Some of the great photographs of all time were taken with manual cameras.

3. Master the digital workflow, including color management, digital image processing, file management and image correction and enhancement.

4. Learn to love photography more than anything else. Don't come to the wedding photography field with just dreams of making money. It is true that there are many successful wedding photographers that make a lot of money. However according to the Professional Photographers of America the average photographer in America makes about $24,000 a year.

5. Focus on delivering quality more than quantity. Seek with all your heart to capture unique photographs.

6. Develop a style that is recognizable and unique. Don't try to be like somebody else. Clients look for unique photographers, with a unique vision.

7. Give wedding photography all your heart and effort. Long when you are gone your photographs will last forever. It is a great way to be remembered.

8. Open your heart and your mind and great photos will happen. Concentrate on the human aspect of weddings, the details, and emotions and be ready to capture them. Let the camera become an extension of you.

9. Share your technical knowledge and make connections with other wedding photographers.

10. Participate in wedding photography image competitions. It will give you the opportunity to have your work evaluated by peers and the motivation to improve your work quality.

11. Learn something new everyday. Take advantage of professional photography organizations such as Professional Photographers of America (PPA), WPPI, etc. Attend their seminars, workshops. Participate in Internet wedding photography forums and learn and share tips, tools and techniques.

12. Don't neglect the business aspect of wedding photography. Learn to manage your business effectively. Take business courses and seminars.

Five Mistakes Entrepreneurs Make when Starting a Biz

Starting Boutique Mix is a dream come true for me, but this process has taught me a lot about planning, finances, focus and most importantly patience. I had all these grand ideas that I would just breeze through the planning stages and open up the boutique during the first week of the year. Surely, by February 1st, right? Well, I was wrong.

Staring at a new timeframe of end of February, I'm trying hard to get all the loose ends tied up so that I can actually focus on selling!!!! I"m almost there, but like the folks in the article below, I made some mistakes along the way. I'm very thankful for the lessons learned - better now, than later. I've added some pics from a recent Boutique Mix photo session!!!!

5 deadly mistakes when starting a business - Excerpted from CNNMoney.com.

Becoming your own boss can be a dream come true - if you're willing to learn from other people's nightmares. For many people, starting their own business is a dream come true. But too many entrepreneurs see their dreams fall apart - their firms fail because of common pitfalls that could have been avoided.

One-third of small businesses fail in the first two years, according to the Small Business Administration, and a little more than half fail within the first five years. But that doesn't mean you have to give up your dream. Here are five common mistakes to avoid, so you can build a successful business.

1. Too little cash
"The biggest issue that most entrepreneurs have is money - they're not properly capitalized," says Douglas Long, owner of a management consulting firm that advises entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. He recommends his clients have approximately three times what they think they'll need starting out, largely to protect them from any downturns.

Steve Hockett learned that lesson the hard way when he set out to open his own business.

"A few years ago, I was working at a bank and it wasn't a good fit, I was bored and I wanted to become an entrepreneur," says Hockett. Without a business idea of his own, Hockett decided to become a franchisee. Although he picked a very successful franchise, Hockett admits, "I was undercapitalized, it too long for the business to build and my cash ran out." Forced to abandon the business after only a little more than two years, Hockett says he was "devastated."

"The real thing I missed was anticipating my cash needs and being able to weather the first year," says Hockett, who has since become a successful franchise consultant. "One of the hardest things I've ever done was to make the decision to pull the plug on a dream."

2. Thinking small
You may be competing for customers against larger companies with more resources. But you don't have to show it. Harprit Singh founded Intellicomm Inc., a communications services firm, in 1994 when he was a second-year MBA student with just $100 in startup capital.

"A few years ago, my colleague and I drove hundreds of miles to give a presentation on our service to one of the leading global insurers," said Singh, president and CEO of the Philadelphia-based company. "I could clearly see the excitement in our service quickly dwindle in the packed conference room when we mentioned that we are a small business with limited resources. From that day on, I vowed never to let our size hold us back."

Singh began to focus on the advantages he could offer as a small firm in the telecom industry, such as greater expertise and speed of execution. Intellicom now has more than 4,500 customers in 45 countries.

Remember, you're not small, you are boutique. You're not tiny, you are personalized.

3. Skimping on tech
Sure, buying gadgets costs money. But giving your employees laptops, Treos, BlackBerries and wireless access allows them to do more with less. In addition, the latest technology will help you and your employees respond promptly to customers, no matter where you are or what you are doing.

Ironically, it's often easier for a small company to adopt and deploy new technologies, vs. big companies that may be wedded to legacy systems and cumbersome, outdated technology. Your small size can be a plus, letting you be nimble and swift.

4. Underestimating the importance of sales
For small-business owners starting out, most of the attention should go to sales and revenues, Singh says. If sales grow, expenses will take care of themselves. And no matter how small, every company needs a dedicated sales pro to make sure business is constantly rolling in the door.

If you are your own salesperson, Long suggests practicing on friends and family to hone your skills. "You could have the best idea in the world, but if you can't sell it, you won't be successful."

5. Losing focus
Every business should have a vision of what they will be when they grow up. And the more focused the vision, the greater the chances that the business will realize its goal. Further, the vision should be translated into specific execution tasks to achieve desired results.

Before embarking on your business, Hockett suggests carefully laying out all the attributes of your company and what you'll need do to make each aspect of the business succeed. Had he created a detailed plan for his franchise, "I would have waited longer until I was in a better cash position to start," Hockett said. "But I was impatient. I made a decision based on emotion rather than fact."

Super Tuesday - OBAMA AND CLINTON IN DEAD HEAT!!! IS McCAIN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY NOMINEE???

THE VALENTINE'S DAY SWEEPSTAKES ENDS AT 11.59 PM ON SUPER TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5TH!!! GOOD LUCK!!! Your candidate may not win, but hey, at least you'll have a Valentine's Day Gift!!!!

Super Tuesday is almost here!!! It's the homestretch for both parties. Seems like McCain will be the winner in the Republican race, but who knows........... could be a "giants-like-superbowl-win" for Romney. Anything can happen!!! As for the Democrats, its anyone's guess at this point. Both Obama and Clinton are locked in a dead heat, according to most of the polls..................!!!! Last minute speeches, 22 states, last minute campaigning!!! Both parties are now at fever pitch frenzy. Who will go up against McCain if he wins the Republican nomination (assuming he wins)?

Assuming McCain wins, which Democrat contender is most likely to beat him in November? Are you surprised by the popularity of Mccain? I heard Ann Coulter say she'd vote for Clinton before voting for McCain. Does her vote even count? hehheeee......couldn't help it. Rush Limbaugh doesn't think he's conservative enough. Will Huckabee take votes from Romney? Exciting!!!!!!

Super Tuesday News coverage - excerpted from MSNBC

Buoyed by cheering crowds and bolstered by more than $1.3 million a day in TV ads, Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton raced through the final hours of a Super Tuesday campaign across 22 states. Mitt Romney made a late, possibly last appeal to conservatives to derail Republican front-runner John McCain on the busiest day in primary history.

"We're going to hand the liberals in our party a little surprise," boasted Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, predicting he would score an upset in delegate-rich California.

McCain projected confidence Monday, not only about wrapping up the nomination but about next November's general election as well. "I can lead this nation and motivate all Americans to serve a cause greater than their self-interest," he said while campaigning at a fire station in New Jersey.

Side Hustle - Matchmaker

Do you have a knack for creating long-lasting relationships? Did you set up your last three friends four years ago and they're still going strong - married or still dating? Do you enjoy playing Cupid? Well, maybe you should think of starting a matchmaking business. For those of you love doctors out there, click HERE to learn how to start your own matchmaking biz.

If you like reality shows and are interesting in being a matchmaker, perharps you should watch Bravo Television's hit show Millionaire Matchmaker, featuring uber-matchmaker Patti Stanger. Here's an excerpt from her Bio.

Patti Stanger founded Millionaire’s Club in January 2000. Ms. Stanger, the club’s owner, is the former Director of Marketing for Great Expectations (the largest and oldest dating service in the United States), as well as an experienced third-generation matchmaker...

Ms. Stanger felt that successful men in the dating arena needed a private, exclusive club where they could come to find their beautiful and intelligent wives. Introduction services in the new millennium were, after all, no longer only for the dateless and desperate, and were becoming far more acceptable and mainstream. Patti realized that busy, upscale men simply didn’t have the time to go looking for a relationship, weren’t meeting the kind of women that they dreamed about, or were looking for a certain “type” that they couldn’t find.

The Millionaire’s Club currently has over 10,000 women available for its members to date and continues to sign up new ladies each and every day. The service is free to women only; each woman is thoroughly screened and receives a comprehensive personal evaluation before she is introduced to a male member. The Millionaire’s Club is based out of Los Angeles, but caters to male and female members all around the globe. Click Here to read more!!!

Enjoy some pics of your favorite celeb couples............

Fabulously Styled Couple of the Day - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arriving at the SAG Awards earlier today.

And the fabulously-styled couple getting frisky during the awards ceremony........

Speaking of Stylists, is Kim Kadarshian a shady stylist??? People Magazine is reporting that she allegedly abused her client's credit card............ Hmmmm....

R&B singer Brandy Norwood's mother filed a lawsuit Monday (feb 4) against Kim Kardashian accusing her of running up more than $120,000 in credit card charges without permission. The suit, which also names Kardashian's siblings Khloe, Kourtney and Robert Jr., alleges they ran up the charges on the mother's card while Kim worked as Brandy Norwood's stylist in 2006 and 2007. It seeks the return of the money plus 10 percent interest.

Kim Kardashian denied the allegations, telling PEOPLE she and her siblings had Norwood's permission to make the purchases. "We have her signature on all items," Kardashian says.

In the lawsuit, Norwood's mother, Sonja Norwood, who is also her manager, alleges Kim Kardashian had only been authorized in 2004 to make one purchase on the Norwood American Express card in Kim's then-capacity as a stylist for Brandy (Brandy's brother, Ray J, also appeared in the infamous sex tape with Kim).

But later, Kardashian, now starring in the E! reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, made unauthorized purchases and passed on Norwood's card number to her siblings, who also then made unauthorized purchases, including for items in two Kardashian family-owned clothing stores, Dash and Smooch, for a total of $120,636.
